I am a clinical psychologist and ISST certified schema therapy supervisor and trainer for individuals. My passion is for working with adults with complex and chronic attachment based difficulties and I love to help other psychologists and therapists navigate this complex work. The schema therapy model helps me to understand the tricky dynamics that often arise in this work considering both the client's schemas and modes as well as the therapist's. I currently work independently providing schema therapy, supervisor and training and I am an active part of the UK schema therapy community. I have a history of 15 years working in the NHS in services including community mental health teams, rehabilitation wards, acute wards and specialist services for people diagnosed with personality disorder. I am interested in working systemically and strategically within organisations to consider all of the system dynamics when working with chronic and complex needs. I have a warm and supportive approach to supervision as I think it is essential that my supervisees feel safe enough to explore all of the challenging aspects of their work. We all bring our personal histories which shape the ways in which we are with our clients and to feel safe we need to know that we won't be criticised or shamed for our personal reactions. I specialise in supervising people to gain their schema therapy certification.
