I specialise in supervising therapists working at the intersection of chronic physical health and mental health, with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Having experienced didactic supervision early in my career, I knew there was a better way: one rooted in collaboration, experiential learning, and psychological safety. With 15 years in mental health and 10 years as a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist, I bring depth of clinical experience alongside formal supervision training from the University of Surrey (2018-2019). I currently supervise trainee CBT therapists at Canterbury Christ Church University, where I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT in 2016. My practice uses the SEED model (Bradley & Lucas, 2023) and the Portland model (Thompson et al., 2015). My supervision style is collaborative and developmental, balancing support with challenge. Support alone keeps us comfortable; challenge alone damages relationships. Together, they foster genuine growth. I draw heavily on ACT principles, emphasising experiential learning and being present in the room. A typical session involves collaborative case discussion, but I prioritise experiential supervision through video review and role-plays. I'm ideally suited to supervise newly qualified therapists or those transitioning into private practice, particularly those developing ACT skills or working with clients managing chronic health conditions.
