Dr Daniel R. Stubbings

Clinical Psychologist

Location:

South Wales/Online

I'm a clinical psychologist and I work with a range of clients who want to improve their mental health and/or general wellbeing. I work will all kinds of symptoms including depression, anxiety, but also more specialised areas including obsessive-compulsive disorder, anomalous experiences, cancer distress, existential issues. I also specialise in men's issues. I work across cancer and palliative care in the NHS and in academia at Cardiff Metropolitan University as a Principal Lecturer. I have had many years working in secure mental health so offer a broad range of experience as a supervisor. I am particularly skilled in delivering bespoke integrative psychotherapy. I draw from a range of psychological tools and theories including cognitive-behavioural, existential, psychodynamic, interpersonal and humanistic approaches. I have extensive experience engaging in reflective practice and helping clinicians identify countertransference issues. As a supervisor I’m warm but also like to push my supervisees into areas that expand their practice, which include psychodynamic and existential concepts. I enjoy teaching and guiding supervisees clinically and academically. I look forward to meeting other clinicians to help advance their practice.
