I have worked in the area of mental health for 20 years both in the NHS and private sector, holding various research and clinical roles in Adult and Forensic Mental Health, and later specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Looked After Children aged 16-25 with complex trauma. I currently hold a part time senior position as a Clinical Lead and Principle Clinical Psychologist for a charity supporting people with substance misuse and complex needs. Additionally, I also run my own private practice in the city centre of Liverpool where I work with clients with a range of issues, but mostly in the area of complex trauma, relationship and attachment difficutlies. My supervisory style of mostly process driven and underpinned by attachment theory, psychodynamic and cognitive analytic principles. I am passionate about thinking systemtically and how the socio-poltical shapes and influences us and our clients and I always bring this into my formulations, as well as issues around diversity and inclusivity and encourage critical thinking and helping others to think outside the box.
