Dr Melany McKenna

Clinical Psychologist

Location:

North Wales And Online

I am a Clincial Psychologist , accredited CAT therapist, and an Organisational Development Practitioner. I have been supervising for over 15 years across the NHS and independently. I really enjoy creating and holding space for people to reflect, explore process issues, and extend their skills and learning. I think my current supervisees would describe me as warm, down to earth, containing, and as someone who sparks different thinking and perspectives within their practice. Within my NHS role I do a lot of work around systems and leadership and therefore also enjoy bringing elements of coaching and mentorship into the supervisory space, if relevant. In my private practice I work with adults aged 18 plus but offer supervision to people working with those aged 16 and over. I have a breadth of previous experience, including working within Community Mental Health Teams, Therapeutic Communities, Complex Needs Services and Weight Management services. I currently supervise a number of other Psychologists working in private practice, who work with a range of client groups. I tend to formulate from a CAT perspective, with an emphasis on the analytic lens, but draw upon other modalities to inform my work including ACT, DBT, CBT, CFT and MBT. I'm always keen to have a free informal chat in the first instance so please don't hesitate to drop me an email.
