Dr Sophie Gwinnett

Clinical Psychologist

Location:

Wolverhampton/Online

I am a consultant clinical psychologist with over 20 years’ experience and I have led teams and supervised psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and other healthcare professionals for the past 15 years. My background spans adult mental health as well as physical health. My therapeutic work draws primarily on ACT, EMDR, CBT and CFT and I draw especially on relational and attachment-informed perspectives. I believe that many of the challenges clients bring are rooted in past relational patterns and attachment dynamics. As such, I bring a developmentally sensitive, relational lens to both therapy and supervision. As an EMDR consultant-in-training, I run EMDR supervision groups within the NHS as well as offering individual supervision in my private practice. I also support medical and healthcare teams through training, reflective practice and consultation. My supervision style is warm, supportive and collaborative. I strive to create a “secure base” from which you can reflect, learn, experiment, and grow. I offer constructive input on clinical formulation, risk and ethical decision-making and therapeutic technique.
