I am Consultant Counselling Psychologist and have worked in various NHS settings and private practice since 2012. I am an Accredited Schema therapist, MBT practitioner and DBT trained and draw on and formualte from these models as well as Psychodynamic theory in my supervision. I am also an Organisational Consultant and EMCC Coach. I have supervised many other psychologists across my career and am happy to offer supervision for children from 10years +, adults, couples, parents, groups, teams and organisations. My supervision tends to focus on relational patterns as these are the threads that weave through client history, present struggles, and the therapeutic encounter. By bringing these patterns into conscious awareness, supervision becomes an agent for transformation. In practice then, this involves: noticing repetitions and enactments of familar roles, exploring parallel process and attending to and being mindful of the dynamics of power, authority, expertise, cultural identity, and difference, both in your supervision and clinical work. I think supervision is most fruitful when it opens space for you to process your own feelings, thoughts, and bodily responses that arise in the therapeutic context. Therefore, my supervisory space becomes a site for co-constructing meaning, making sense of the interpersonal dance between your client and you, and refining your use of self in the service of client growth.
