I qualified in 2000 and worked for over 20 years in the NHS, up to 8D level, before moving solely into independent practice in 2019. I offer therapy to adults with a range of presenting issues, often working with trauma, and also have a background in addictions. I have taken on leadership roles within the Association of Clinical Psychologists, I act as an expert witness, deliver training to businesses and am involved in book writing and editing. But my supervision practice is one of the things I enjoy most about my work. I love to support other clinical and counselling psychologists in their therapeutic work, as well as helping them to develop their businesses, so that they too can have a work/life balance that suits them. I work predmoninantly using EMDR (in which I am accredited) and ACT, but have a background in CBT, schema therapy and DBT. I respect the skills and experience of those I supervise and see supervision as an opportunity to reflect, consider other ideas and think about therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe space where people feel comfortable to share whatever they are finding difficult in their work, and their personal life, if this is having an impact on their practice. I offer supervision flexibly in terms of frequency and length, to fit with the indiviual's needs, and also acknowledge that it can be helpful to have more than one supervisor. I welcome enquiries and offer a free consultation to ascertain whether we would be a good fit.
