Dr Claire Rycroft

Clinical Psychologist

Location:

North Cornwall / Online

I'm a Registered Clinical Psychologist and have worked in both clinical and forensic settings (including the NHS, HMPPS and private healthcare settings), with a range of clients with various needs. I have space for individual supervision and group reflective practice, particularly for those working in adult mental health settings, forensic mental health, risk assessments, and for clinicians working with Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET). Supervision with me is collaborative and down to earth, whilst being direct with advice where required, and leaving space for reflections on the complexity of our work. Case discussions, formulations and role-playing/skills practice are all aspects of supervision I enjoy offering. I currently work full time in private practice, splitting my time between therapy clinics, psychological risk assessments for HMPPS and solicitors, and Expert Witness work, predominantly in civil litigation. Throughout my career I have focused on working with adults struggling with a range of mental health difficulties. I have specialist interests in experiences of trauma, attachment, and interpersonal difficulties. I am trained in and offer Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
